A SPECIAL WELCOME MOTHERS WHO CARE!!!

A GREAT HISTORY

Mothers Who Care (MWC) has a strong history of mobilizing moms to contend for souls and pray for change.  Praying God's Heart for Our Schools reflects the felt need and motive for “standing in the gap” for those represented in the educational field of our nation. You and I know that prayer plows the ground, preparing the soil for the seed. The seed must be sown in order to reap a harvest!

This idea and commitment to weekly united prayer and encouragement, with God’s Word as our foundation, has been replicating for decades, in response to God’s Call.   A strong network of thousands of groups of women, understand what it means to be changed and see change as a result of mutual conversations with God around our common and often desperate felt needs of those we care about. It's been His Idea!

NEW REALITIES

Our movement has grown to include fathers, grandparents, educators and students who share the burden for others in the educational domain. It became apparent that our Mothers Who Care name needed to be widened.

“Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy.  They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.”    Psalm 126: 5-6 NLT

ANNOUNCEMENT . . .

As the vision of praying God's heart continued to expand creating the need to revise our MWC name, and with the expressed need directed to us from Power to Change (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada) to develop a city strategy of prayer, a new vision and strategy was birthed.  This new ministry is called BREAKTHROUGH. As you read on you will discover how MWC shares this vision by focusing on the educational domain of our cities. That will continue!

Therefore… MWC will become a part of BREAKTHROUGH and will continue to serve through its current groups in the educational domain. Breakthrough's structure makes it possible for any alumni OR new group to engage in other fields of interest as God calls.

MISSION: Inquire hear and obey for the advance of God’s Kingdom 2 Samuel 5:17-25

VISION: We envision empowered champions and groups of prayer commissioned to contend in prayer for lost people in the domains of our cities for the advance of God’s Kingdom.

*Do-main: 1. a field of action, thought, influence, etc. i.e. the domain of education, business, family, sport, church, arts/media, government, military, medical and humanitarian aid

MANDATE

To create a “CRAC” for spiritual breakthrough on behalf of the lost people in our cities (Numbers 10:1-10), we will:

C- celebrate God Stories

R-resource & train online and onsite to contend in prayer for lost souls

A-assemble and mobilize strategic champions and groups of prayer for the domains of our cities both great and small

C- commission for the advance of God’s Kingdom

Our beliefs and values are rooted in Jesus model of living and dying. We acknowledge that through Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, we are forgiven for our sins and we can have a dynamic personal relationship with God as Father, Son  and Holy Spirit through prayer. We are motivated by Jesus commands to love God and our neighbor as ourselves in the power of his Spirit and to make disciples, teaching them to obey. Matt 22:37-39; 28:19-20

“Let all lovers of souls, and all workers in the service of the gospel, take courage.  Time spent in prayer will yield more than that given to work.  Prayer alone gives work its worth and its success.  Prayer opens the way for God Himself to do His work in us and through us.  Let our chief work as God’s messengers be intercession: in it we secure thepresence and power of God to go with us.”  Andrew Murray

FUTURE

Groups currently involved in MWC will be able to continue using the MWC name. All new groups formed with the focus of praying God's heart for schools, however, will be registered under the Breakthrough name.

Current MWC groups are encouraged to switch over to the Breakthrough Prayer Ministry name.  You can do that by re-registering. All resources for all groups will be supplied from Breakthrough.

  • Breakthrough will intentionally maximize the internet as the key source of communication to serve every champion and group and a broader base.  Explore the pages and tell us what you think info@breakthroughprayer.com.
  • The MWC Heart to Heart Newsletter will now become an online Breakthrough E-Newsletter sent out automatically to everyone registered. You can also download it from the site at any time. This E-Newsletter will replace all future Heart to Heart Newsletter ‘snail mail!’
  • We recognize some are not internet connected.  Don’t panic! There is a way to still get our information by mail.  A hard copy of the ACTS verses with a devotional thought will now become a regular addition to the Power to Change (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada )Trimester Update publication.  This printing will include God stories and events, from all 15 Power to Change ministries in Canada and around the globe, including Breakthrough. It will be a great prayer tool.
If you would like an annual subscription in this format please complete along with the annual $25 subscription fee, so that we can include your name in the next mail out of this publication.
  • Re-register  here - thank you!

GOD STORIES

These fresh encouragements reinforced for me why I do what I do.  They reminded me that love and care exercised by ‘God’s Team’ looks like believing prayer and Spirit-led encouragement. It is “God’s Idea and it really is ‘His Heart’!  Believing prayer is intentional, relational, sacrificial (which is our reasonable worship) and always results in change. It will advance the Kingdom of God.  I can’t be silent about this transformational activity!

  • The door bell rang.  A neighbor came over in tears.  “Will you pray with me? We have to confront our son about an issue and I’m afraid his response will be violent.”  We believed together for a miracle. Four weeks later the door bell rang again.  Jumping up and down with a grin that could not be contained, my neighbor unfolded the story of how her son gave his life to Christ and also experienced a restored relationship with his dad.  We cried with joy!
  • “There she is! The one I told you mobilizes moms to cry out in believing prayer for others in our schools, trusting God for miraculous intervention.”  These were the passionate and enthusiastic words that greeted me as I crossed the field to attend our latest family reunion. You see, Aunt Pauline was the first in her family of nine adult siblings to recently encounter the saving grace and love of Jesus.  “We were the last people on earth you would expect to come to Christ, a ‘write-off’ you might say.  Now here we are, each of us saved one by one because others pleaded to God for us in believing prayer and shared the message of God’s love.  NOW it’s our turn to contend for others and not give up. Nothing is impossible with God!”
  • “Even though my daughter graduated I still would like to receive the newsletter. We are going to continue meeting, using the verses. It never fails to amaze me how often the verses would be so appropriate to what we were praying.  Thank You and Thank God!” Gertie, BC
  • “We saw many answers to prayer this past year and are very thankful for the vision of seeing every school covered in prayer.  We pray continually for those schools in our area who are not covered in prayer each week, asking for just two mothers (just like our group) to come forward and start praying together each week.  What a blessing this time of prayer has been to us as mothers!  We thank you for your commitment to this ministry and pray for strength and wisdom for each week." Sonya, ON
  • “Julie and I benefit from your ACTS verses. We meet every two weeks to pray for our family issues.  We like the idea of spending one hour only to pray and use the ACTS verses.  God has answered our prayers and His hands are on us.  Thank you!”   Sharon AB
